To help draw in a crowd, and show appreciation for my current readers, I'm holding a contest!
The prize? A 25 dollar gift card to either Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble (winners choice). The time frame? 2 weeks. So the contest officially starts when I post this and will end on: Saturday, September 4. The rules?
1. If you were a follower when you commented, mention it (please be honest) and that will get you 2 entries.
2. Posting about the contest on your blog gets you an extra entry.
3. If someone sees my contest on your blog and becomes a follower and mentions it when they comment, that's an extra entry.
4. Becoming a new follower earns you an entry.
5. A helpful hint about how to bring more people to my blog who will comment gets you an extra entry.
So, this means that a new follower can get 4 entries and an existing follower can get 5! I look forward to seeing more activity here and promise to deliver more to my readers as well!
I'm a new follower, just found you via the Blog Hop. You have a very nice blog - love the background ;)

I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteMy hint to get more people to the blog? Join the The Broke and the Bookish Top Ten Tuesday meme. It's kind of like the Blog Hop, except that each Tuesday you make a new top ten list on the subject they supply. Then you just sign their linky list, and voila: new viewers for you. :)

I am old follower-I guess. I mean I have been following you since before you posted this contest.
ReplyDeleteI will def add it to my Giveaway section on my sidebar and post an entry for if on my blog.
To get more followers to comment and all that I think it may help if you ask someone at Good Choice Reading to post about your contest. I gained a few followers that way.

PS. I do a weekly meme of book review of the week. Enter one your reviews in and if you are choosen it will posted for you draw more followers. Even if you dont win your entry stays in the running. http://endofstorynextbook.blogspot.com/2010/08/book-review-of-week2.html
ALSO.. Get a twitter if you dont have one and link it with your networked blogs because then when you post on here it will post a link to your twitter account for your followers to see
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower via google friend connect!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. I find most new blogs from the blog hop. However, another way to find followers is Book Blogs on Ning. Just google it and you'll find it. One of the best way to find more followers is just to follow follow follow. The more people you follow the more people will follow you in return.
ReplyDeleteOh and if you're not on Goodreads I'd suggest getting on there too. A lot of bloggers network on there as well.

I'm recent follower, but followed before the contest.
ReplyDeleteI'd say if you are on goodreads or Librarything, then become members of some of the groups there. There are places there to advertise your contest. Picks up people who may not otherwise have head of your blog. :)
I am an old follower. It is a wonderful contest and I am sure you will get new followers, probably a lot of them. Just keep your content unique is my advice.
ReplyDeleteI am an old follower. I think the best way to bring traffic to your site is doing a hop, you can also find blogs that have giveaway links. Try joining groups on goodreads or bookblogs. I hope this helps.

I'm already a follower. Thanks for the wonderful contest and you can always post about other hobbies or things you enjoy like knitting or movies since I see a lot of other blogs who do that. I shared your contest on my blog sidebar: http://jeanette8042.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteGreat contest! Good luck gaining followers! I'm already a follower.
ReplyDeleteIf I could give you advise to gain followers it would be to make sure you post a lot even everyday if you can.

Please count me in if this is international.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower.
(Your followers' box isn't working on my screen. I don't know if this is just me. I pressed 'follow' at the bar at the top).
A good way to get publicity is through blog hops!

Sounds like a great contest. Best of luck with it. I enjoyed reading the comments about gaining followers. I have done several of these myself, but not GoodReads. I guess I will break down and start using my account.
ReplyDeleteI will mention your contest today in my Sunday blog post.
I follow via GFC!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity!

My suggestion to draw a crowd...
1. comment on three new blogs a day for a week or two. Most people will read your comment and follow you back here.
2. do a meme or two such as IMM-link it up to The Story Siren.
Thanks for the amazing comp!

Spotted you on a friend's facebook links and started following you recently. My advice to you to keep people coming back (other than giveaways, which always draw interest) is to provide interesting and worthwhile content. I loved the "It's a Book" videoclip! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. I found you via the hop.
