Pass It On!

Well, after a long discussion with a wonderful friend of mine, who also happens to be a great blogger, I decided I needed to start a Pass It On project! There are many many blogs out there that are just wonderful, but aren't getting a lot of press. A couple of blogs do spotlights to bring these blogs to light, but some just aren't getting noticed like I think they should.

I've decided that it's time to help each other out. If you have a blog that you work ever so hard on, and try as you might you're just not really getting the attention you want, this is the program for you!

The Plan:
  • While you're out reading blogs you have had to have noticed that one blog you thought was really great but didn't seem to have as many visitor's or comments as you thought it should
  • Instead of just moving on thinking "Oh, so sad" take the time to post about it on your blog!
  • On days when you see that I have a Pass It On post (hopefully every Monday) come back and link your post in a comment.
  • Every Monday I will choose 2 blogs to discuss in a Pass It On Post.
Hopefully this will work well to spread the word on all those great blogs we just don't get to see enough people at!

For my first Pass It On I will be highlighting one of my favorite blogs:
The View from Sari's World
Sari calls herself an 'armchair scholar' on her blog, but she is ever so much more than that. Sari's blog is great because she is so witty and intelligent that you start reading one of her post's and the next thing you know it's over and you want more more more!

Sari reads a lot of non-fiction and her reviews of non-fiction books are amazing! She's helped stir my interest science and medieval history.

She also reads a varity of fiction and reviews it objectively and I've never read a review and felt as if she came out of left field with an opinion!

Her blog is great and I highly recommend it.

My next blog spotlight is I Flip Pages

Gege writes wonderful reviews on some books that I'd have never heard of if it weren't for her. She writes in depth with great insights on the books she reads. Her reviews are smart and quick witted and filled with words that make me go 'Weee' inside!

She quite obviously takes time to write these wonderful reviews and yet I've noticed only a couple of comments on each of her posts! I think she needs more support in her reading habits! She takes the time out of her life to write these posts and she needs to be recognized for this! So please stop by her blog and check her out.

For those of you who are spotlighted on my blog please feel free to add this graphic to your blog, you don't have to, and you don't have to link back to me, but it is an award of sorts! You deserve this spotligh

  1. Hi

This is such a great idea, there are so many great blogs out there that deserve more readership.

Thank you for introducing me to these blogs.

  2. You're welcome! I hope that it catches on. My friend and I were complaining that we try to get people to give us feedback (ie comments) and it just isn't happening, or it's the same two or three loyal readers all of the time, which is great, but not quite enough. Ya know?

Thanks for visiting! I loved your blog.

  3. What a great idea! There are many blogs out there that are deserving of such an award. You are so sweet to mention mine. I will be sure to pass it on. Someday you will have to show me how to make a badge. I love blogging but am a total dork when it comes to making pretty wedges and badges. Love you!

  4. Terrific idea. We were all new bloggers at one time, and starting out is really tough. Thanks for this thoughtful gesture.

  5. Wow, wow, wow! Thanks, Melange. This made my day, my week even. I was away on vacation, so I didn't read your comment right away; I'm so glad I didn't miss it. Given the long intervals between posts, I must really need this kind of encouragement. The comments are a great way of interacting with kindred souls -- with people who are moved by the written word. Thanks for the spotlight, Melange. Of course, I had to post my plaque: http://tinyurl.com/melangespotlightedme
