It's time for 'The List' of 2009. All the books I read, the amount of pages, average pages and all that jazz :D I think this is my favorite time of the year!
I read a total of 36 books this year, missing my goal of 50 by 14! That's crazy, but I will say that I did have a lot of upheaval in my life this year, and have to be honest, I'm surprised I got that many in. I read a total of 9,138 pages in the year 2009. That's an average of 253 pages per book and 3 books per month.
Looking at the ratings I gave all of the books in the last year it seems as if what I did read, I enjoyed. Though not many really seemed to stand out for me. My most enjoyable read, to just sit back and have fun with was probably My Booky Wook.
Between the Bridge and the River was a great book, that I have recommended a billion times since reading it, Firmin is also one I will not soon forget. The most lasting impression though probably came from Push by Sapphire. This book should be on a education (probably for...seniors in high school, or freshman in college) list and be a forced read.
Before reading my list of 2009 reads, please ponder the question, which was your most enjoyable read for the year? Which book will leave the most lasting impression on you? Nice list. I did not read as many books as I had hoped. I always want to do better than the year before, but this year I was down about 30 books. Like you what I read I really loved. I had a hard time coming up with just a few.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick one book that everyone should read, it would be Richard Dawkins Greatest Show on earth. We all need to be better aware of science so we are not fooled by pseudoscience and all those late night infomercials.
