My Rating: C+
My Review:

The first fifty to one hundred pages of this book were pretty engrossing. Shortly after that though, it got very bland and extremely slow moving. I had a lot of trouble picking it back up. But I pushed on because this author writes awesome characters. I had to know what happened to them. At about 450 pages in, the book got interesting again. I'm still not completely sure if it was worth the wait though.

While, as mentioned, the characters are very addicting and the plot was good, the story was quite anti-climatic, the idea was great but when good and evil meet, it just...happens. I was quite disapointed. Also, throughout the book, it is implied that Ethrea is in grave danger, but the author doesn't really bring that feeling across the board. I felt no real sense of urgency.

Overall though, the characters make up for a lot of shortcomings in this book. I think that only if you really enjoyed the first one, and just had to know what happens next would I pick it up though.
