Musing Mondays - Bookmarks

What do you use to mark your place while reading? Do you have a definite preference? Do you use bookmarks, paper, or (gasp) turn down the pages? If you use bookmarks, do you have a favourite one?

Right now I'm using a book mark from Paperbackswap.com that a sender sent with his books. It's pink and has his user name on the back of it. Normally though, I use book marks that I get from my Romantic Times magazine. I have a stock pile of them in my book shelf next to the bed. I don't always use them though, sometimes it's just a piece of paper, or the day from the calendar that needed ripped off at work if I opened that morning.

Sometimes I use the same bookmark for multiple books, but a lot of times my bookmarks end up getting dropped in the bathtub. I've only ever dropped a book once, but often the book mark will fall out of it's place and into the tub. It's always a sad site.

I like to give out book marks to my friends though. I pick all the 'hot' guys from the RT Mag and give them away, or if I see one that describes a book I think they'll like I pass it along.

I also use bookmarks from my local UBS which is quite handy because if I decide I want a book ordered on a whim, I have the number right there.

I sometimes see pretty bookmarks in Barnes and Noble that I would love to have, but ::sigh:: I often find that the money is better spent on books themselves.
