Booking Through Thursday (A bit late...)

A comment on someone else’s BTT question this week inspired this question:

Do you read any author’s blogs? If so, are you looking for information on their next project? On the author personally? Something else?

I usually look at authors blogs for the purpose of finding out what their next book will be about, or when it's release date is. Some authors I just like to read about what's going on in their process. I don't visit author sites/blogs as much as I think about doing it (if that makes any sense at all to you). Some of my favorite blogs or sites of authors are:

Jen Holling

Karen Marie Moning

Emily Bryan

Neil Gaiman

All of these are excellent writers, and their websites are pretty awesome as well. Jen's blog is updated less, but when she does she keeps her readers informed of what's going on in the process.

Karen's site is full of fun stuff, especially the Darkefever site. There's even games. Gotta love games based on books!

Emily's blog is a great place to go if you're not only looking for information on her books, but she also is currently doing a blog tour, so through that you can find even more blogs by reading fanatics like us.

Neil Gaiman's blog has almost daily (I believe) updates on his life and it also has forums. I'm not a huge forum fan myself, but, when you need a question answered it's a great place to go. Knowing there's one right on the site is pretty nifty.

I do have to say I often get disappointed if an author I really enjoy doesn't have a website or blog. It's really something that makes the reader/fan feel a bit closer to the author.
