Blood That Bonds by Christopher Buecheler
Blood That Bonds by Christopher Buecheler
Blood That Bonds is not my usual genre but I'm so glad that I broadened my choices. this was my first vampire book since the whole vampire phase began. Having never read any of the Twilight or other popular paranormal books I appreciated it with an open mind and ended up enjoying it greatly. I even began searching for the second book, Blood Hunt, that continues Two's quest to remain vampire...but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Blood That Bonds begins with the story of Two and her heroin induced lifestyle. even though her life revolves around tricking for the next fix, it wasn't by her choice. 16, and with no real adult guidance, a pool hall scam introduced her to the wrong crowd and Two found herself waking up in a whore house heavily addicted to heroin with a new boss/pimp/drug dealer landlord. Just another client to service with the unusual interest in black clothing Two sets out to earn her keep. She has no idea the sexy man in the super fast sports car is her ticket out of the red-light district and into the darkness...
Theroen takes Two as his child/lover and sets off a chain reaction. In his vampire clan lives Abraham the eldest/father has Tereon, Melissa (Missy), and Tori as his children. When Two's arrival threatens Abrahams family he decides to make some changes of his own, only Thereon doesn't agree. A child vampire against his elder...the outlook is bleak.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to write a list for my next trip to the library since I just picked up a load on Friday. I seem to be a series magnet and I do love vampires so the odds are pretty good that I'll enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThe second book is on my list too next time I get to the library... Which will be soon because I think my current books are due... ;o) Let me know what you think of it once you read it...
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That cover is scary!
ReplyDeleteCool image, :) Looks pretty good,
ReplyDeleteI agree with "exchange outsourcing" that cover picture is scary. But it is very interesting too.
ReplyDeleteThis was an awesome story! Interesting twist on a vampire novel, so looking forward to the next part of this trilogy.
